Christians in the world

We live in a competitive society, competitiveness, in its proper form, can be healthy. But sometimes within it, is a ruthless drive to get ahead.

Especially, ahead of the next guy, faster than the next guy, to have more than he has, better than his, and at times, stepping on him or over anyone that attempts to stand in our way.  For some, healthy competitiveness, becomes an obsession.

In the information and technology age in which we live, social media, text and emails has become than ‘norm’, rather than social gatherings. Sadly, because of this ‘social interaction’ many people today, do not deep, meaningful and mutually satisfying relationships,

When we place the focus our successes, our lives, our problems we lose sight of what being a follower of Christ is all about, others.
As Christians, our value and worth is in Jesus Christ, and the Word of God, not the self perpetuating values of this world, that devalues and depersonalizes others, seeing them only as tools to be used as we claw our way upward on the ladder of success.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”
2 Corinthians 5:17

"Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the father is not in him."
1 John 2:15
Amen

And He was praying there. 36  Simon and his companions went searching for Him. 37  They found Him and said, “Everyone’s looking for You!” 38  And He said to them, “Let’s go on to the neighboring villages so that I may preach there too. This is why I have come.” 39  So He went into all of Galilee, preaching in their synagogues and driving out demons. 40  Then a man with a serious skin disease came to Him and, on his knees, begged Him: “If You are willing, You can make me clean.” 41  Moved with compassion, Jesus reached out His hand and touched him. “I am willing,” He told him. “Be made clean.” 42  Immediately the disease left him, and he was healed. 43  Then He sternly warned him and sent him away at once, 44  telling him, “See that you say nothing to anyone; but go and show yourself to the priest, and offer what Moses prescribed for your cleansin
