I’m sure you, like I have heard, “sin is sin” and as horrific as Hell is, it will be worse for some than others. There will be degrees of punishment, with the worst reserved for the most heinous sins.
In Christ’s explanation of His parable of the faithful and evil servants, He said “And that servant who knew his master’s will, and did not prepare himself or do according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. “But he who did not know, yet committed things deserving of stripes, shall be beaten with few. For everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required; and to whom much has been committed, of him they will ask the more.” Luke 12:47-48
Christ performed spectacular miracles in three Jewish cities, Chorazin, Bethsaida, and Capermaum, designed to produce repentance. But these cities rejected Christ, which will bring down on their heads punishment more severe than on the wicked cities of Tyre, Sidon and Sodom.
It truly grieves my heart so, to see this type rejection of Christ occurring in our own great nation today. Despite the widespread availability of the gospels on television, internet, social media etc, the abundance of local Christian churches that teach sound doctrine, the belief in God and obedience to His Word is plummeting.
Many churches today are saturated with music programs, self help and theology debate classes, well advertised outreach programs for the needy, many even televised, yet obedience to God, is diminishing, among Christians.
I am sorrowed at the punishment awaiting to those who turn their backs on Him, spurn opportunities to hear and respond to His call for those in need of salvation, fellowship and spiritual guidance.
