It may appear in our world today that everything is going wrong. Poverty, disease, famine, religious tensions, political tensions, we have plenty to stress about.
Jesus told His disciples on the night of His betrayal, not to seek peace in our surroundings and circumstances but in Him.
“Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
Christ knew exactly what was coming in His own life, He also knows what is to come in ours. He wants us to have peace, in Him, no matter what is going on around us. In Him, we can have a peace, confidence and security that only comes from knowing the One to whom we go to in prayer.
Regardless of our situation, we can obtain our in hearts and our minds guarded, by the ‘peace of God’, which surpasses all understanding.
“He is our peace in the time of the storm.”
“And the Lord, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you.; do not fear or be dismayed.”
When we have our theology straight, then our perspective is clear.
