Many churches today, have substantially failed at preaching the Word of God, teaching sound doctrine. And in neglecting to share the full gospel of Christ, they have done a great injustice and disservice to the congregations of church.

“For if I preach the gospel, I have nothing to boast of, for necessity is laid upon me; yes, woe is me if I do not preach the gospel!”
1 Corinthians 9:16
It is the responsibility of the leadership of the church to teach the whole gospel, even the parts that make the congregation squirm uncomfortably in their seats or that have been deemed irrelevant by many. None are qualified to select which books are considered to be ‘relevant!’
“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.”
The Word of God is always lost first in the house of God, before it is lost in the homes of the parishioners.
Jeremiah 3:15
The church has to return to a voice of hope, and island of righteousness, upholding the principles and values of the Word of God. Seeking new and creative ways to bring people back into the church, to the gospel of Jesus Christ, rather than seeking to revolutionize our values.
“I am here to promote the truth and piety of Christ. I am called to be a man after God’s heart who does his will. I am to bring the ‘sweet savour of Christ’ wherever I go.”
2 Corinthians 2:14–15

The church itself needs to come to repentance, for its own desires for quantitative success, and the temptation to peddle and promote world oriented theology that masses of people hunger to hear, to feel good about their sins, in order to expand buildings and meet church budgets.
If we ourselves, believe what we preach, that Almighty God will supply our needs, than we must truly believe it; not believe that we should believe it. We must live ourselves, that God’s Word is our daily food, that Christ is the living water, and is a necessity to our survival.
Today’s church must strive get back to Christ, work to help people find relevant, intellectually respectable teaching and values. The Word of God should change the church, the pastor and the congregation. Not the reverse!
The church needs the pastor to stay in the Word, the pastor needs the church, to help him stay in the Word.
As the leader of the church, it’s is the ministers’ responsibility to recognize the spiritual needs of the congregation, even if they don’t recognize them. Not every sermon should cause them to squirm uncomfortably in their seats, nor should every sermon neglect to do so.
“Speak these things, exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no one despise you.”
“Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others. Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus.
