Good Morning everyone,
Are you a water faucet?
I know you probably didn't think about your water faucet when you were getting ready for church this morning, did you?
(grins)
I didn't think so. So again, are you a water faucet?
I want to encourage you to think about that for a moment now.
Yes, it's true, you've come to church this morning, so I could teach you about water faucets!
(laughter)
I want to say this morning, the water faucet is necessary. It's necessary to get the water from where it
is, to where it needs to go.
So don't want to minimize the importance of a faucet! But think about it like a vessel, and God needs vessels!
God has always worked through human vessels.
In fact, as we read in the Scriptures, God can use anyone, and most of the time, God works through the most unlikely vessels.
1) Moses stuttered - Exodus 4:10
2) David's amour didn't fit him - 1 Samuel 17:38
3) David was too young - 1 Samuel 17:33
4) Abraham was too old - Genesis 24:1
5) Lazarus was dead! - John 11:1-12:9
6) And Jeremiah was a bullfrog, was a good friend of mine.
Just kidding haha - Jeremiah was depressed and suicidal. Jeremiah 20:14
God Calls us, the body of Christ, to be faucets! John 7:38
God can have all the plumbing in all the right places, but in many cases, the only thing that stops the flow of movement of God is the lack of a vessel! Or the faucet is turned off!
2 Kings 4:6
Don't ask me to explain why God decides to use the most imperfect people to accomplish His work.
Quite honestly, it doesn't make a lot of sense, does it?
I mean, God, the One who can do all things, would choose to restrict Himself to moving through imperfect, flawed, inconsistent people!
And I don't know why the Creator chooses to move through His creation.
But, God is always seeking for men and women through which to move! Isaiah 43:19
So, I want to close today leaving you with this one last thought..
Do you understand just how important you are to the work of God?
