Worship, What Is It and Why We Do It. Part 2

Good morning Everyone!

How is everyone this morning?

I'm so glad to see each and every one of you who came to worship today!

Welcome to anyone here for the first time! I know visiting a church for the first time can be a very awkward experience. You don't know, any of the songs or inside jokes.

And unintentionally, we can make a visitor feel like an outsider!
If we've done that this morning, I sincerely apologize!

Last time we were all together, we learned about worship.
At least I hope and pray you've learned something about worship..
Otherwise, I've not done what God called me to do... And I take my job very seriously!

I mean, have any of you heard how powerful my Boss is? Whew, you don't want to mess with Him.. haha

And so I'd like to continue our discussion on worship, after all that's why we're all here, it's why we were created! To worship our Father in heaven.
What an awesome and loving God He is!

How many of you know, that worship was God’s gift to man and man only. Angels worship God because they behold Him, they worship Him for what He is. They can’t praise Him for what He’s done, and that must come into our economy.

We must praise Him for what He’s done, our salvation, and worship Him for who He is. Of all the creatures that God created, man is the only one recorded with the privilege to worship. No other creature worships God, for no other creature is spirit. You cannot worship if you don’t have an eternal spirit in you.

"In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the temple. Above it stood seraphim; each one had six wings: with two he covered his face, with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. And one cried to another and said:
“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts;
The whole earth is full of His glory!”

And the posts of the door were shaken by the voice of him who cried out, and the house was filled with smoke.
So I said:
“Woe is me, for I am undone!
Because I am a man of unclean lips,
And I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips;
For my eyes have seen the King,
The Lord of hosts.”
Isaiah 6:1-5

Worship was a gift that God gave to Adam; no other creature had it. When man sinned he cast down the instrument of worship. So God was deprived of worship, the only thing He desires. When Lucifer left, heaven was left with void of worship around the throne of God, and then God gave the instrument to man. But man listened to Lucifer in the garden, and man took the instrument, the gift of worship, threw it down and stomped it into the ground! Now God has spent thousands of years trying to get man to do one thing, worship. And worship flows from oneness.

We were created as spiritual beings, that's why we can die!
And that’s why angels can’t die.

The angel who strengthened Jesus in Gethsemane is alive at this very moment. The same angel that fed Elijah, or the one that stood in front of Joshua, is alive right now, today! Angels don’t get old and they don’t pass away. I know some people in Los Angeles, are going to love that! Can I get a witness? (smiling)

They've created an entire industry and have literally spent trillions trying not to age! The cosmetic industry, hmm, not so much, huh?

Anyway, that’s why our Lord has not destroyed satan; He never violates the essence of His own nature. I know many have asked me that, "Why doesn't God just destroy satan, He created Him!"

That’s why man is so religious because man, though he has fallen, is still hungry for God. Because he has lost his way he becomes religious, and he tries to fill the void that’s inside him.

But such fulfillment is like Isaiah 29:8,
for he shall be as a man, a hungry man that has fallen asleep, and dreameth a dream. And in his dream he eats and drinks, but when he awaketh “his soul hath appetite.” Only true worship will satisfy the soul. Man who is hungry for God but he has lost his way created religion.

Though we were created in His image, God
is not like us, just randomly looking around; He has something specific in mind that He is seeking. Could you be just what God is looking for?

We read in 1 Samuel 13:13-14
“And Samuel said to Saul, Thou hast done foolishly: Thou hast not kept the commandment of the Lord thy God… But now thy kingdom shall not continue: the Lord hath sought him a man after his own heart…”

You could be what God is looking for. Apparently everybody that’s in His service isn't!
Hey.. Hey! What are ya'll looking at me for? haha

Just for the record, I was speaking about King Saul!
Though he was in His service and he had been anointed with holy oil, he turned out not to be what God was searching for. So even while Saul was still in office, God began to search for what He really wanted!

The Book of Samuel goes on to say, “…the Lord hath sought him a man after his own heart, and the Lord hath commanded him to be captain over his people, because thou hast not kept that which the Lord commanded thee… And the Lord said unto Samuel, How long wilt thou mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? Fill thine horn with oil, and go, I will send thee to Jesse the Bethlehemite: for I have provided me a king among his sons” 1 Samuel 13:14, 16:1

So in the midst of the mess, God still searching...
It’s kinda scary to think that God can look past you, even after He has looked at you, then He looks in you, and then says, “that’s not what I want.”

We read in Acts 13:22, "And when He had removed him, He raised up for them David as king, to whom also He gave testimony and said, ‘I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after My own heart, who will do all My will."

God couldn’t find something He wasn’t looking for! He is looking for somebody, not talented, but willing. He’s looking for someone who is willing to submit, surrender and obey. He is looking for something even beyond obedience! Could YOU be what God is looking for?

“Run to and fro through the streets of Jerusalem;
See now and know;
And seek in her open places
If you can find a man,
If there is anyone who executes judgment,
Who seeks the truth,
And I will pardon her."

Jeremiah 5:1

God is saying, "Go find Me somebody who will go upstream, Somebody who will raise his voice for righteousness and not blend in, go with the flow. Find Me one who stand up in the midst of a mess, and will not go with public opinion!"

In Ezekiel 22:30 it says, “And I sought for a man among them, that they should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found none.”

Our God, Who is holy and just, is forced to execute judgment against evil, even though He doesn’t want to. And because God is full of mercy He wants to pardon us, but His justice says He must punish! He searches for someone to stand in the gap, so that mercy can override justice.

James 2:13 says, “…and mercy rejoiceth against judgment.”

God looks for someone who will stand against evil and call the people to repent. For if they repent, I am ready to forgive, but if they will not repent, I must judge!

"Therefore I have poured out My indignation on them; I have consumed them with the fire of My wrath; and I have recompensed their deeds on their own heads,” says the Lord God."
Ezekiel 22:31

When God cannot find what He’s looking for, He's forced to destroy it...

The fact that the presence of God in this service, today, is proof that God is on a quest, even now!

He is looking for someone that He can use to spare the world from an eternity in hell. To better understand the awesomeness of God seeking anything, we must grasp the greatness of worship.

For all of God’s seeking is tied to worshipers. When He told that Samaritan woman, “for God seeketh such,” it means He is looking for a worshiper, not a worker! And God is not seeking just any worshiper, but one who worships Him in spirit and truth!
Is that you?

You Can't Quarantine The Word of God

" 35  Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, He got up, went out, and made His way to a deserted place. And He was praying there. 36  Simon and his companions went searching for Him. 37  They found Him and said, “Everyone’s looking for You!” 38  And He said to them, “Let’s go on to the neighboring villages so that I may preach there too. This is why I have come.” 39  So He went into all of Galilee, preaching in their synagogues and driving out demons. 40  Then a man with a serious skin disease came to Him and, on his knees, begged Him: “If You are willing, You can make me clean.” 41  Moved with compassion, Jesus reached out His hand and touched him. “I am willing,” He told him. “Be made clean.” 42  Immediately the disease left him, and he was healed. 43  Then He sternly warned him and sent him away at once, 44  telling him, “See that you say nothing to anyone; but go and show yourself to the priest, and offer what Moses prescribed for your cleansin
