Family Life - Part One

Good Morning Family!

I'm so thankful to see all of you here today.

I can tell you that since we were together last, many a prayer went up and were answered!
All praise and glory to God!

And can I just say, He's not finished yet...!!

Heavenly Father,

Your word says that You have forgiven our sins and healed our diseases and in Jesus’ name I pray that You’re healing would be manifested in the body of Your church, and I thank You that Your healing is complete. The finished work of Christ, on the cross has been done!

We pray that when doubt and fear begin to fill our minds and hearts concerning our prayers, Lord, I ask that You would help us to focus only on Your words “Do not fear; only believe” and we as Your people, would be filled with peace knowing You are a faithful and loving God!
In Jesus' name
Amen

Today we begin a new series..
One the Holy Spirit has laid heavily upon my heart.. Family.
I've entitled this new series: Family Life.

And I've got to tell you, I do not believe this will be a two, three or even four or five part series.
I believe God has much to say on this critical subject..

"Have we not all one Father?
Has not one God created us?
Why do we deal treacherously with one another
By profaning the covenant of the fathers?"

Malachi 2:10

Families are suffering. All around the world, the failure of the family is causing serious problems. Why are families falling apart?
The world has forgotten the Creator of the family and left His design out of their plans.

There are cultures where:
The fathers have left the home.
The mother is the head of the family.
Children are growing up without a father.
Many not even knowing who their father is.
Where people are living in sin.
People are having multiple sexual partners, in and out of marriage.
Men legally have more than one wife.
Women legally have more than one husband.

There is an outright attack on the family!

Since the disobedience of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, man has been trying to plan his life using His own ideas. This was the original temptation of the serpent in Genesis 3:4-5, and it is still working today!

Church,
It is time for God’s people to recognize this battle for what it is and take a stand against the enemy. We can win the war for our families. We can defeat the enemy. But we must return to God’s plan and fight the real enemy, not each other.

We must always remember that the real enemy of our souls is not any religion, people group, or philosophy. Our enemy is the devil and his cohorts, and we have strategic weapons that we need to bring out, dust off and use against him!

"Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother,” which is the first commandment with promise: “that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth.”
And you, fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord."
Ephesians 6:1-4

Church, Scripture defines clearly our enemies:
"For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places."
Ephesians 6:12

The good news is, Scripture provides us with a full arsenal
of weapons for battling the enemy and winning the war!

"Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints."
Ephesians 6:14-18

Did anyone happen to notice the first weapon?
That's right! Truth.. the Word of God!

The offensive weapon of “the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God” is vital. Without it, we spend all of our time fighting a defensive war. Without strong dependence on the authority of God’s Word to correct the problem with families, people will continue to use their own ideas, and the family will eventually die completely.

WE MUST SAVE OUR CHILDREN:

We need to fight for God’s family plan, and quickly. The death of families is destroying our children at an alarming rate. With the family structure falling apart, the enemy is attacking the minds, bodies, morals, and beliefs of children all over the world.

"I will praise you among the nations, O Lord"
Psalm 18:49

There are staggering numbers of children, worldwide, who die unevangelized every day!
Many have never heard the Gospel message even once!

Thousands of children, under the age of five, die every day from starvation and malnutrition.
Yearly, millions of aborted babies.
Millions of children die as a result of wars.
Millions of children suffer from human trafficking, forced prostitution and sexual slavery.
Millions of children are currently involved in child labor.

Following a man-made plan, causes children to be open to the attack of the enemy, because they are not properly protected by God’s plan. It also increases the probability that they will not know how to use God’s Word as an offensive weapon in battle.

Children are supposed to listen to the instruction of their father and mother.
Proverbs 4:1-4

Children are commanded to honor their father and mother
Ephesians 6:1-3

Children are a blessing from the Lord
Psalm 127:3-5

Church, if the family does not wake up follow a godly pattern, many parents will continue to regard their children only as burdens.

In closing, for today...

The family is more important than we may have imagined. It has been neglected for so long and allowed to follow man's plan.
A plan other than God’s, will lead to destruction!
It has been sacrificed on the altar of careers and selfish pleasures.

With God’s help, a determination on our part to follow His plan, and some hard work, making sure everyone, especially our children, understand who the real enemy is and what weapons we must use, we can build strong families.

God is more powerful than the enemy.
1 John 4:4

His Word will last forever
1 Peter 1:25

We can defeat the devil
1 John 2:14

We must be victorious
1 Corinthians 15:57-58

The church has one percent of the child’s time;
The school has eighteen percent of the child’s time;
The family has eighty-one percent of the child’s time.

A family that is following God’s plan will train their children in the ways of the Lord.
It's not the schools, the teacher, the pastor or even the churches responsibility!
It has to start in our homes, the parents, in our families and with the Word of God!

For anyone in disbelief of what the lack of God's Word makes,
just take a look at our children, our schools, our world!
More broken homes, more disobedient children, more school shootings....

And now may the Lord bless you and keep you;

the Lord make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;

The Lord lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace.

Now and forever, in Jesus' name
Amen

You Can't Quarantine The Word of God

" 35  Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, He got up, went out, and made His way to a deserted place. And He was praying there. 36  Simon and his companions went searching for Him. 37  They found Him and said, “Everyone’s looking for You!” 38  And He said to them, “Let’s go on to the neighboring villages so that I may preach there too. This is why I have come.” 39  So He went into all of Galilee, preaching in their synagogues and driving out demons. 40  Then a man with a serious skin disease came to Him and, on his knees, begged Him: “If You are willing, You can make me clean.” 41  Moved with compassion, Jesus reached out His hand and touched him. “I am willing,” He told him. “Be made clean.” 42  Immediately the disease left him, and he was healed. 43  Then He sternly warned him and sent him away at once, 44  telling him, “See that you say nothing to anyone; but go and show yourself to the priest, and offer what Moses prescribed for your cleansin

The Power Of A Humble Prayer
