Babylon-The Destruction Of A Global Empire

 

 

"After these things I saw another angel coming down from heaven, having great authority, and the earth was illumined with his glory. ² And he cried out with a mighty voice, saying, “Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great! She has become a dwelling place of demons and a prison of every unclean spirit, and a prison of every unclean and hateful bird. ³ For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the passion of her immorality, and the kings of the earth have committed acts of immorality with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich by the wealth of her sensuality."

Revelation 18:1-3

Good Morning my beloved,

 

We welcome you to worship in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. It is my privilege to have you here with us today. We are especially grateful for those of you who have been sharing the ministry website with all of your family and friends. Your faithfulness and commitment to share God's Word with others continues to bring about tremendous results. People are responding to God's Word! This is all so amazing. We ask you to p ray that God will continue to give us boldness to speak the truth in ministry in the face of adversity in the coming days!

   

I want to let all of you know how grateful I am for all of you. We are so thankful your prayers and continue to pray for all of you. Prayer is such a powerful tool, and a mighty weapon against the adversary. And through your sharing, God continues to bring a number of people to faith in Jesus Christ. Praise God! May He continue to use you and this ministry mightily to effect change in even more lives. All for His glory!

 

I believe at the present time, we are seeing the beginning of this great collapse in our country, many people are without jobs and losing their homes, more and more people have committed suicide because of the stress. Violence and riots has seemingly become a national pastime. It appears that our nation is in one the biggest economic crises of its history, and the national debt just continues to mount due to excessive spending and bad policy. However, this world has not seen anything like the coming final economic crash.

 

I believe that God placed President Trump in office, to move the Embassy to Jerusalem, to bring abortion to the political fore front and illustrate our nation is ready to worship a man and President Biden in the white house to continue on with the massive debt policies that he has had a big hand in causing with the help of our weak congress. Not to mention his debacle in the Middle East and foreign policy. The world stage is being set for the coming of the Antichrist.

Before anyone has a negative comment to add, understand that God ordains world leaders in place to accomplish His will and purpose, and many times, He even protects them in order for them to continue on. Gods plan will come to pass exactly as He said.

 

Romans 13 teaches us "Every person is to be in subjection to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God. Therefore whoever resists authority has opposed the ordinance of God; and they who have opposed will receive condemnation upon themselves. For rulers are not a cause of fear for good behavior, but for evil. Do you want to have no fear of authority? Do what is good and you will have praise from the same; for it is a minister of God to you for good. But if you do what is evil, be afraid; for it does not bear the sword for nothing; for it is a minister of God, an avenger who brings wrath on the one who practices evil. Therefore it is necessary to be in subjection, not only because of wrath, but also for conscience’ sake. For because of this you also pay taxes, for rulers are servants of God, devoting themselves to this very thing. Render to all what is due them: tax to whom tax is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honor to whom honor."

 

As we've noted before, the book of Revelation is the unveiling of divine truth that was once hidden.  The Lord Jesus Christ is disclosing to us the amazing chronology of events that will define the final days of man’s rebellion upon the earth and His glorious return as King of kings and Lord of lords.

Heavenly Father,

 

Father, as always, we thank You for Your Word. Lord, we pray that You would grant us wisdom, give us sensitivity, cause us to be faithful to discharge to commission You have given us, to preach the gospel to all nations. Help us to be passionate about Your kingdom and heavenly treasure, and less focused on this temporal world. Burden our hearts to faithfully pray for those that do not know you, that today would be the day they would confess their sin and come seeking You as both their Lord and Savior. Help us O Lord, to be found watchful and faithful, being Your hands and feet when you return.May it all be for Your glory.

Today's Message: Babylon-The Destruction Of A Global Empire

 

I believe it is safe to say, that everyone is curious about the current economical state of the world  People are anxious to hear about interest rates, budget deficits, the stock market and the condition of world trade, global commerce, dollar values against foreign currency. I believe that more today, than ever in the history of the world, people are very aware of economics. Because of foreign trade, and world markets, no longer are our economies isolated. Like it or not, we have a global economy. Yet, we still live in a divisive world. It's rather remarkable if you stop and think about it, this is precisely what Revelation chapter 18 describes a global economy under the control of the final Antichrist. This will be a component of the final days before the return of Jesus Christ. The book of Revelation chapter 19 describes that return. At that time the world will recognize the power of the God of Israel. 

However, today we are in Revelation chapter 18. I must confess, this is a very somber chapter. There is one very good reason to be somber. Satan will be in control of the universe. And, it is beginning to all collapse around him. I know there are some of you, who have lived through the depression. Many of us are living in difficult financial situations, some of you have lost jobs, your homes and quite a lot of money.  Some of you may have more money than you ever have, only to discover it buys less than before due to inflation and increased costs of living. While others are struggling to buy enough groceries to feed a family for a day or two. Our families have become very dependent on money in order to survive. After the church has been raptured into heaven, I believe chaos will ensue around the world especially in the United States of America.  This country will be instantly crippled. Let's piece all of these prophesies together in the Word of God.

 

Open with me your Bibles to Revelation chapter eighteen. Revelation chapter18. I invite you to follow along with me as I read these first three verses to set the text in our minds, as we prepare our hearts for what the Spirit of God is saying to us. Listen for the voice of our Lord. Revelation 18:1-3.

 

"After these things I saw another angel coming down from heaven, having great authority, and the earth was illumined with his glory. And he cried out with a mighty voice, saying, “Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great! She has become a dwelling place of demons and a prison of every unclean spirit, and a prison of every unclean and hateful bird. For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the passion of her immorality, and the kings of the earth have committed acts of immorality with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich by the wealth of her sensuality."

 

As we begin in chapter 18, let's look at verse 1, "After these things I saw another angel coming down from heaven, having great authority, and the earth was illumined with his glory."  I'd like you to notice that there is announcement made by another angel. I'd like you to notice four things about this angel. First, he is "another" angel. Another, is the word "allos," meaning another of the same kind as those angels that preceded him. 

 

The second thing I'd like you to notice is that "he comes down from heaven" this indicates the fact this judgment comes from God. The third thing, is he has "great authority." Great authority.  Authority, is the is the word "eksousía," which means "the power to act." God is then authorizing the angel with supernatural authority to act and the power to execute judgement. The light in the darkness will turn to terror at the voice of doom. Because God is absolute light, perfect holiness or righteousness and justice. In Him there can be no darkness. The angelic messenger comes expressing God’s glory and holy wrath against sin.

 

Lastly, the fourth thing is "the earth was illumined with his glory." Illumined is the Greek is the word "phōtízō," a causative verb meaning to illuminate or make bright. Literally the Greek says "and the earth was made bright from or out of the source of his glory." That’s important to say because in chapter 16, verse 10, there was an angel pouring out the fifth bowl, who poured it on the earth, and the earth became darkened, and people were gnawing their tongues because of pain, and blaspheming the God of heaven because of their pain and their sores, but they still didn’t repent of their deeds.

 

Notice that in verses 2-3, it's the same thing he said in chapter 14 verse 8. "And he cried out with a mighty voice, saying, “Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great! She has become a dwelling place of demons and a prison of every unclean spirit, and a prison of every unclean and hateful bird. For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the passion of her immorality, and the kings of the earth have committed acts of immorality with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich by the wealth of her sensuality." This is an opening pronouncement of judgment. Notice after the angel cries fallen, fallen, he then describes. Judgment is soon coming.

 

When the prophets of old prophets looked at the destruction of Babylon, they saw its utter desolation, and there was a desolation of an army, it was the carrion birds, of course, that came in and ate the flesh of the dead. This is symbolic of the demons and the unclean spirits who feed on the ignorant unbelievers who are in the kingdom of Antichrist. Babylon is demonic to the core. "She has become a dwelling place of demons and a prison of every unclean spirit, and a prison of every unclean and hateful bird." So, John's vision begins with judgment pronounced, and it begins with another angelic messenger. By the way, this is not the same angel of chapter 17. Another one like the one in chapter 17.

 

As we have noted a number of times, John's often begins with the phrase "After these things." Again, this introduces us to the next vision. If I were to sum this chapter up in a few words, I have to say first of all, its doom; secondly, its danger; thirdly its deeds; fourthly, its dirge; and, finally, its destruction. The first three verses then describe the final collapse of commercial Babylon, a system that has intoxicated the kings and the merchants and the people of the earth, with its commerce, with its materialism. 

 

We know this will require a one world government, and I believe this will also include a one world economy, and quite possibly, a one world bank with one world currency.Or more likely, a cashless society. Interestingly enough, 50 years ago all of this would have seemed impossible. However, today, it's inevitable.  This one-world government will literally be controlled by hell itself. In verse 2, we get a clear picture of the demonic source, power, and control of this system as it rises up in the last days.

 

Then, verse 3, he tells us how extensive this kingdom is. The judgment is pronounced on the whole world. In other words, the whole world is in a materialistic drunken stupor."For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the passion of her immorality, and the kings of the earth have committed acts of immorality with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich by the wealth of her sensuality."

 

Sensuality is the Greek word "strhnos," meaning arrogant or unrestrained luxury. Babylon then, with its worship of money and power, will promote and push unrestrained luxury, sensuality, and pleasure. The world is seduced by Antichrist.  Babylon will promote the philosophy that happiness, significance, security, and fulfillment are attained by the abundance of the things people possess, in travel and luxury, in comfort and pleasure.  Quite frankly, this sounds exactly like America and much of the world today. The kings of the earth literally have committed fornication with the Antichrist who represents Babylon. That is to say, the kings of the earth have committed their acts of immorality, becoming the harlot of Antichrist. I believe that we are heading faster and faster toward this one world economy. If you're going to have a commercial global system, then you’re going to have a global economy. Today, more and more people are placing faith in their money and materialism. The evidence of the future is literally stunning. 

 

In Closing..

 

Today there are a multitude of worldwide organizations already devoted to the concept of antichrist and is also already speaking of the overthrow of the present religious systems including Judaism, Roman Catholicism, and Protestantism. Schools do not allow pray before their ball games, and you had better not end your prayers in public in Jesus name. Because someone will surely find it offensive.  Then, the ACLU brings law suites against people if they dare offend a non Christian. Today our nation is  made up of all kinds of religions. In fact, on national television, former President Obama said America was no longer a Christian nation. While Palestine, Iran and other countries are set on destroying Israel while our President among others turns their back on Gods chosen people, and I fear what God might send our way on account of this.

 

In Genesis 12, God says  "And I will bless those who bless you, And the one who curses you I will curse. And in you all the families of the earth will be blessed." No nation will escape God's judgement! This entire corrupt world This system has become so much a part of life that it’s hard for us to imagine our lives without it. Nearly every family is living beyond our means, credit card debt has ruined many a family. Because our government is literally giving our jobs away to foreign countries, our manufacturing plants are shut down. The result is we will find ourselves in an even bigger mess.  It won't be long before other countries will stop loaning our government money when they see they’ll have no chance of being paid back. I believe that all of this must come in order that the mark of the beast will be administered.  There is a very important lesson here, however, no one seems to be listen.

May the Holy Spirit open the eyes and ears of the hearer.
